The fact that his lifetime has lasted as long as it has without him being horsewhipped by an appreciator of either good acting or good science fiction is certainly an achievement. I do note that the organization giving him this award is the Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival, which is perhaps not quite as well known as the Sundance Film Festival or Bertha's Mussels.
