Seriously, a nice long even shanty where you can scream out the chorus is probably best. I did it the easy way and had an elective Caesarean, mainly because Bratling was upside down, inside out and back to front, so I can't compare but having seen my best friends in long labours, I'd go for the long haul shanties!

Just as well I didn't sing, I can get the high notes in the Queen of the Night aria without exterior assistance....
