Gareth, I would just like to echo some of the sentiments expressed on the other thread.

There is a huge body of goodwill towards keeping the 'Cat going, but I am pretty sure that I speak for many others who will otherwise remain silent if I say that I would like to know exactly what it is we are trying to achieve here.

Are we trying to raise cash to buy a new computer? Fine, let's set a target figure, set a date, and actively canvass contributions.

Are we being asked to finance Max's day-to-day operating costs? That's fine too, let's know how much is needed, there are plenty of members here who are perfectly prepared to help out, but, LET US KNOW WHAT IT IS YOU NEED !! Don't just ask for "contributions". Spell it out.
