I have discussed your thong with W L Gore and Co., the makers of the much-discussed-at-Mudcat coated Elixir strings. They say that it should be perfectly feasible to coat your thong using either their polyweb or nanoweb technology. Whichever is chosen, their will be a marked decrease is corrosion and hence increase in thong life. There will also be less friction and unintended noise, so you may have to drop "...the Squeak" part from your Mudcat name. My experience with Elixir technology is that it can definitely help in reaching those difficult-to-get high notes...
