I don't know if this is still available anywhere, but the local (Sydney, Australia) manager of Music Sales International used to sell a "Transposing Slide-rule". This let you match up the two keys, between which you wished to transpose, and then you could read any note against its equivalent in the other key.

I remember examining one of these with interest, because I had made a similar device for myself out of cardboard and sticky-tape ... about 40 years ago (and still have it stashed away somewhere!). Like many such musical aids, eventually you learn to do without it - and finally wonder why you ever needed it!

The slide-rule I saw was locally made, in Sydney, but it is the sort of thing that someone probably makes elsewhere ... maybe you could find something on the WWW ... or some Mudcatter may have seen one ... somewhere.
