Yup, I considered that, but felt it worth the risk. I figured the extra moisture was temporary, and perhaps no worse than a rainy camping trip. I had tried other solutions to no avail, and thought that fuming would be the only safe way of getting the bleech to the instrument. The guitar btw, was an old Harmony Sovereign, which I now keep set up for lap-style, since as a beater it has been replaced by a Simon and Patrick.

Fabreeze (sp?) works with alot of things, but I wonder if there's anything in it to react with instrument finishes. Anyone know?

A professional carpet and upholstery shampoo service could probably do the cat case case (that is, the case of the cat pissing in the case) without any trauma to the case lining. Not being a cat lover, though my kids have one, had it been my case, that case might have become a coffin for wee kitty. Case closed.
