He's all over the jazz map, though this one 78 is his sole blues outing. He was a member of the Hokum Boys, and recorded with them the same year this 78 was made (1929). His jazz recorded output was all done in 1929, 1930 and 1934, mostly with mid size bands (between six and ten pieces). He was, as you can probably figure out from your 78, a piano player.
