Thank you all so much. Your good thoughts are helping already. I just got news that, much to everyone's surprise, he is sitting up in bed and talking.

And don't you know, I had just driven back to Colorado from Pennsylvania. If I had left it a day or two longer I'd have been able to drive up and visit him. He's in Stevensville, Ontario.

Now I'm going to have to scrounge enough money for an air ticket.

His name is also Bert.
