Two of our "youth oriented" TV stations tried to bring up the "child abuse" issue, and asked various young pilgrims what they thought could be done about it. I wasn't surprised that the kids (probably around 18+) seemed dumbfounded at the question itself. From what I saw, at least ten or so were asked for their opinions, and not ONE could articulate an answer that related to the question. They mostly said things like 'we need to pray more....'.

My guess is that among the devout young, victims of abuse and "questioners" are seen as weirdos, best avoided at all cost. I don't mean this as critically as it sounds....it strikes me as the same kind of relationship that "straight kids" had to hippies in the sixties and seventies.
