Tony, that is a somewhat sweeping statement about the quality of wood available. The quality of soundboard wood hasn't deteriorated, for sure.

Are you saying that the East Indian rosewood available now is in some way inferior to that available when Taylor started making guitars?

I don't recollect that Taylor ever made too many Brazilian rosewood instruments, but if they did, then obviously they aren't going to be able to do that again in the foreseeable future.

Asd far as their mahogany instruments are concerned, the quality of Honduras mahogany hasn't changed in the last two hundred years.
