ThomasN, welcome! I know what you mean about having a piece of a song stuck in your mind; but you can't quite connect it with enough to put a name to it.

I am not familiar with a PP&M song that contains that kind of wording. One of the few "colorful" songs I can think of right now is "Ruby Red" by the Kingston Trio. The song appeared on the flip side of the "Tom Dooley" single. You can find it by clicking here and scrolling down. I doubt it is a match.

Stretching a bit more, I might mention that Arlo Guthrie's "If I Could Only Touch Your Life" (released as a single in about 1972) contains the lines, "So green the trees and oh so blue the skies When you are looking through a lover's eyes." Again, I have little faith that it is a match.

By the way, it is extremely useful to include a part of the lyric in the Subject of a lyric request, such as, "Greenest Green". You would get more response that way - especially if you labeled it as a lyric request. Take a look at the Mudcat FAQ - Newcomer's Guide near the top of the main Forum page for more hints.

Good luck!
