I found this on the Lowland and Border Pipers Society website www.lbps.net and thought I should bring it to the attention of catters - just in case.

John Goodacre had his car broken into on 29th June at a remote Leicestershire beauty spot, Burough Hill near Melton Mowbray and had his pipe box stollen.

In the box were his Broder pipes in A, his Leicestershire smallpipes, bellows, whistles, electronic tuner and a Goodacre Brothers CD.

Says John: "I am lost without these instruments, my main means of musical expression. The Border Pipes are a beautiful set which is, at a price, replaceable; but the Leicestershire Smallpipes, although not much to look at, are a unique and treasured set with a long history and a unique voice."

Keep your eyes and ears open.

I know I would be destroyed if it happened to me that's why I never leave my pipes unattended whistle away from home.
