Ummm... as I remember, when Columbus and de boys were wandering around they (or maybe it was some later whiteys) met these Indians who said they were Europeans, and spoke Arabic. Or something like that.

I vaguely remember that when the beginnings of genetic testing were being done in the 1980s some time, descendents of these guys - somewhere in or around Louisiana? - were tested and found in fact to have gene types (?) from North Africa/Middle East, somewhere like that.
