G'day Conrad,I see there's been a little bit of good old Yankee thievery with the Bushwacker name ... used for the last 30 years by the biggest name band in the Australian Folk Revival - Folk/Rock end.
Not that I feel any remorse for the the Australian band's claims on the name (©, ®, ™, &c) ... they can use their own barracudas to argue about that - the same way that they have just told the 5 surviving members of the ("Real") BushwHackers ... the band that launched the Australian Folk Revival back in the early 1950s that, if they hold a 50 year reunion and use the name they made famous ... they will be sued for every penny they have!
In Australia, "Bushwhacker" means a bushman, a hard doer in the tough bush work. The later bands seem to prefer some of the nastier American connotations of the name.
