Subject: RE: BS: D&D Folkers...
Murrray Live action role play used to mean exactly that dressing up and running around with rubber weapons. I used to larp with Treasure Trap back in the eighties before it folded and at an off shoot started with Pete Garner at the Chislehurst Caverns, ocasionally I went to Broadsword for a while. Dave, any ideas on what system of combat they are using? Some of the priest cast are also non-fighting (compensated buy having a greater spell capacity) if they dont have a specifc bard class taking one of these can usally be adapted without having to change the system. If your only going to NPC and from what you say you don't want to get physical, the only way to stop a hack and slash party from attacking the NPC is to give the NPC some powerful defence spells which make it clear that attacking the NPC is a one way ticket to sudden death.
