Thread Name: Help: Folk Parodies in 2001
Subject: RE: Help: Folk Parodies in 2001
Well, with a gentle nudge from Clinton Hammond, this is a parody I wrote for another forum that deals with the fight of open-wheel racing series in N. America between CART and IRL.

Sung to the tune of 'Teach your Children' by CSN:

"Teach Your Children about Real Racing"

You, Who love all the show,
And All you know, that CART is dying,
And though, Tony says he knows,
Where you must go, to watch your racing,

Teach, your children well, the IRL,
Its crapfest racing,
And show, them a right turn,
A wheel spin burn, and some real racing,

Don't you ever wonder why, why he made it you will cry,
He just scowls at us and sighs,
'I wanna be a big guy'

And you, who know all the gears,
The past few years, of openwheel racing,
Must know, that CART won't go,
They can't say so, Tony or the lemmings,

And teach, your comrades well, The IRL,
Is a fad that's leaving,
And know, now its Pook's show,
with CART in tow, gotta love the feeling,

Don't you ever wonder why, why he made it, he will cry,
When he finds out that he tried,
but CART stays living.
