Quentin Crisp, who styles himself as "one of the stately homos of England," is quite androgynous in his appearance. In a TV interview he once described how someone asked him if he were a man or a woman. He answered, "Does it really matter? I mean—what are you suggesting that we do?"Good question. Really, what does a person's gender or sexual orientation matter—unless one has plans that include them. . . . ?
