When I was young and naive, I used to think that someday the good guys would win, our rights and freedoms would be protected, and we would all live happily ever after in peace and prosperity. What got my attention then was a radio show called "The Radical Elders Oral History Project." It was a series of interviews with old labor leaders and other radical types from the thirties and forties. I realized then that they had been fighting for the same things my friends and I were marching in the streets about in the seventies and eighties, and it gradually dawned on me that the fight would never be over. We ALWAYS have to watch out for guys like John Ashcroft, who are likely to ride roughshod over the Constitution with the conviction that what they are doing is right.I have no idea whether this guy Hatfill is a legitimate suspect or not, but I do know that the FBI is potentially dangerous.
But ya know, Doug, you're still my favorite right-winger.
