Slug/snail repellent that works here in spring with damp soils. Save empty tin cans, both ends removed, to use as collars around plants, twist copper wire around can tightly. Work can about an inch into soil around plant. Works like the copper strips sold in garden stores but cheaper. Gives the plants a chance to outgrow the snail damage stage.
