You may have opened a can of worms here, Jimmyt. Part of the answer is that there is probably a lot of purely English music around in the U.K. these days, though it has largely fallen out of favor in the U.S. and Canada or has been swallowed up in the North American versions of English songs.

As for Celtic music, there's not as much around as everybody thinks. There's a lot of Irish and Scottish music around that lots of people call "Celtic" music, but neither the Irish or Scots were Celts. Where that mistake came from has always been a mystery to me. Maybe somebody from the UK can explain it for both of us.
