An interesting experiment has been done recently involving taking brain waves (in this case, of people suffering from insomnia) and mapping them to musical output, which is then fed back to the subject and observed to help him sleep better.

The story, including an audi sample of the music created by brainwaves, can be found on this page. Obviously the output depends on who draws the map and what metadata is used in the process.

But, ya know, the music ain't half bad!!

This raises interesting questions about brainwave to music translations of the inside of Mudcatters' heads. I think I know a few who would come up with dreamy patterns kind of like "Love, Oh Careless Love", while others might produce something more akin to the 1812 Overture or perhaps the sound of alley cats in heat. Who knows!!??
