Thread Name: Help: Daughters wedding
Subject: RE: Help: Daughters wedding
Roisin: I wrote the following, "Rebecca's Reel," about my daughter's upgrowing (her name's Accacia, but the tune it's set to is "Rebecca's Reel," a lovely piece in A-modal by the dulcimer player Lucy Sollogub. I think there's some way to improvise about any girl's name into the lyrics.) I thought I might play it or dance to it at her wedding, though she has assured me that will never happen. We'll see. Played slowly enough, I suppose you could do a foxtrot to it. If you're interested, drop me a PM and we'll figure a way to get the tune to you.

1. First her left foot, then her right foot
First her left foot, the-n her right
Tak-ing steps in white, white boot-ies
Al-rea-dy danc-ing Re-bec-ca's Reel.

2. Try-ing out her grand-ma's dress-es
Wob-bl-ing in au-n-tie's shoes
First steps in high heels are trick-y
Reb-ec-ca's reel can ma_ke you smile.

Cho: She's the danc-er, she's the dance
She's sway-ing to the song of life
Glo-ry to its puls-ing rhyth-ms
Dance your dance, Rebecca's Reel

3. On the side-walk to her friend's house
Skip-ping lines and ski-pp-ing cracks
Run-ning in her dirt-y sneak-ers
Still she's danc-ing Re-bec-ca's Reel

4. In the dis-tance, bells are chim-ing
A mel-o-dy that's hers alone
Where's my love-ly danc-er go-ing?
Re-bec-ca's Reel will sho-w the way.
Chorus
