She'd only heard the Pete Morton stuff on the Tuesday and gigged it on the Saturday. I couldn't do that, and don't suspect many could. And it seemed polished and the arrangements were good, too.

Yes, having parents that have run one of the longest established and best supported clubs in the UK (Hitchin, 30+ years, all under Maureen's management, must have helped with contacts, but she has worked very hard over the past few years, playing anywhere and everywhere, building her skills and fan base.
