I've only recently realised how poor my eyesight has become and I recently bought some varifocals to save having to continually take off/put on my glasses at work.
The trouble is I can't get used to gigging with them as I feel as though they get between me and the audience and so I end up stuffing them in my pocket. The last time my band played we changed the set list around and so I had the running order hastily written out and placed at my feet by the mic. stand. Unfortunately I had forgotten that my feet were 5' 10'' from my eyes and had to resort to fumbling for my specs between numbers.
