I know it's a fine line i.e. between making familes with children feel welcome and trying to please the regulars at the same time, but it does seem a shame not to allow children in who are so used to the "folkie" ethos that they are no trouble at all.

The young people referred to earlier in this thread are all excellently behaved, and also interested in what is going on. It would be a shame if they and their families were put off returning to the festival, wouldn't it?

I do know that several festivals have had trouble with youngsters when their carers "dump" them in workshops, and then go off to enjoy themselves, but I know this wasn't the case here.
