One possibility is the afore-mentioned youth hostel. It's possible to reserve an entire dorm.

Another one is to rent a scouting hut (sorry, no trekkershutten in Groningen I'm afraid, Eric). The disadvantage is that these are quite far from the citycentre, and that it takes a lot of people to make this a cheap option (one of the huts was 100 Euro a night, in the middle of nowhere (read: near the crematorium), and use during the day costs extra).

Another possibility is to rent one of the huge scouting tents and set it up on the camping. Cosy!

McGrath, sorry, but as a third generation atheist I'm not really familiar with rent-a-church possibilities. There is a Wallon church however, so maybe Mooman has connections :-)
