Thread Name: SUNNYCAMP IS A GO!!!!!
Subject: SUNNYCAMP IS A GO!!!!!
I THINK IT IS OFFICIALLY ON, SUBJECT TO, AS THEY SAY IN REAL ESTATE, CERTAIN CONDITIONS. ONE IS THAT WE RAISE $200 FROM PEOPLE PAYING RIGHT NOW. IT WILL BE AROUND $50, AND $50 FOR SURE IF YOU PAY RIGHT NOW.

It might be a little bit more if you delay..like maybe $60. I would like to be able to offer at least 2 scholarships for people willing to stay and clean up etc.

I think I might have around $150 already, counting my own $50.

People who come should expect this to be almost a planning session for next year. But I think it is important to just go ahead and do it, so next year we can say it is already up and running. It also will probasbly be the first weekend of October next year, rather than the 18th, which it will be this year.

It will be in Nahcotta, Washington, on Long Beach Peninsula. About 2 hours from Portland, 1.5 from Longview. We made it in 3 from south Seattle last week, on Labor Day itself. Weather should be standard October..quite possibly sunny and beautiful. Could be grey and misty. ALso at the beach could be stormy.

There is no heat in cabins. We might be able to bring in heaters for a surcharge, but maybe not. There is a fireplace in the lodge, which is just a simple lodge. It has a pretty good kitchen for this sort of thing though. Cabins are standard. There are men's and women's bathrooms, which I think might be a bit chilly.

Please do try and come. Menu will be pretty standard camp fare, with hopefully a salmon dinner on Saturday. I don't expect a lot of people, but so far some who are pretty sure to come are my favoritemost singers, so I think even if 5 people, or 10 or 15 come (and I am hoping for maybe 20-30, but we might not make it this year)..we should have fun. And the place is just beautiful..and I think on a sacred spot..on Willapa Bay. About 2 miles from the ocean itself. And if you don't like my camp cooking, the Ark restaurant is a short walk away. Also, if you don't like cabin life, there are plenty of other places to stay on the peninsula, including a rental house I am involved with and could probably get you for $60-100 a night..there are also cheaper places.

What can you lose? We also have bumper cars here and cotton candy. A weekend at the beach, with beautiful music and fresh salmon, for $50.

Come one come all.
