Thread Name: BS: strange laws
Subject: RE: BS: strange laws
I read the long list of bizarre and ludicrous laws- the problem I have is that I don't believe half of them. If they are no more on the mark than they are in the ones I know about...

It is illegal to a wake a bear for the purpose of photography in Alaska. Wrong. You can legally crawl into a bear's lair in order to photogragh it (but DUMB); it is not legal to do so in order to shoot it and it is not legal to do so intentionally if it is a sow with cubs.

A law in Fairbanks, Alaska, does not allow moose to have sex on city streets. Say whut?

In Willowdale, Oregon, no man may curse while having sex with his wife. I've never been in Willowdale but if the statement is no more accurate than the others I doubt its veracity.

Federal law forbids recycling used eyeglasses in the United States. Wrong. Look at the Lions Clubs.

In Alaska it is illegal to look at a moose from the window of an airplane or any other flying vehicle. Wrong. It is one of the highlights of a sightseeing flight.

In Salem, Oregon, it's illegal for patrons of establishments that feature nude dancing to be within two feet of the dancers. Correct. Fairly sound reasoning- it disallows public fondling by either the dancer or the dancee.
