There is a special weekend organised by Pat Liddy to honour that great singer ROBBIE McMAHON.

The wekend takes place from 4th to 6th OCtober in Spancil Hill and features the great man himself.

Singing on Friday night in Duggans, Saturday day-time in Norrie Henchies, Saturday night in Brohans (Spancil Hill Inn) finishing in Duggans on the Sunday. All singers and listeners welcome.

Incidentally, in the course of thinking about this thread I looked for the original Spancil Hill song and was amazed to find only Christy Moore's very much shortened version. Considering the praise heaped on Frank McGrath who researched this song at considerable length I am surprised that it was not harvested and entered in the DT. I cannot think of nay way to search other than using Spancil Hill. maybe it's there in some other guise. the original words are still in that original thread.
