As folks on this thread have said, be sure to get information about physical therapy. Judging from the recent news stories about Christopher Reeve's continuing recovery from his horseback-riding accident – and the fact that some parts of his body that had been paralyzed are now starting to move again – physical therapy does seem to have its merits!
