I've now got it working thanks Alan. I re-installed my drivers, but I think my main problem was my own myopia. There's a switch on top of my keyboard which enables/disables the MIDI input and output.

BTW Alan, any chance of making a small change to your program (MIDI to Text converter)? Upon successful conversion you have a text line which appears on the screen which presumably says " File conversion successful" or similar. It is so brief that I've only just noticed it, and I've used your utility more than a hundred times. I f you cock up the syntax of the file name, I don't think that you see anything. There seems to be an opportunity to increase the screen time of the successful outcome and/or provide give some clue as to the negative one. Should you have the time I would be more than happy to trial it.
