"It is the nature of a civilisation dominated by fundamentalist religions to find so-called evil within other denominations which do not adhere to its beliefs. Satan is basically a usurpation of symbolism and invention of the Christian church meant to scare people into conforming to its particular beliefs.

"From the Metaphysical Bible Dictionary, the ancient Aramaic translation of Satan is defined as `lier in wait; accuser;,etc.' The metaphysical or symbolic meaning is defined as, `the deceiving phase of mind in man that has fixed ideas of Truth.'

"Humankind's ego, negative thoughts and actions are manifestations of the accusing or critical consciousness which is out of harmony with God.

"The history of many Christian churches is one of diviseness, hatred, genocide, and subjugation of native peoples all over the world and among fellow Christians of differing beliefs.

"In its aftermath is a legacy of continued hatred and self-righteousness which does not reflect the kindness, balance, and open-mindedness of true Christianity. During this age of Aquarius, we see reflected in paganism, some Christian churches, and other faiths, the true principles of balance, non-violence, peace, love, and harmony that Jesus taught."
