Hi, Murray... Nonsense! Aside from being a landscape installer and a drystack/mason specialist, I've dug more holes than you can imagine... In my experience, sometimes the earth settles in and forms an indentation, and sometimes it doesn't... it forms a mound. I simply meant that I've never subjected the digging of holes and ditches to scientific studies along these lines... ttr
