Not just the splitting, it's the refreshing as well, as it always has been. But the splitting system makes it a bit more frequent.
This isn't a complaint. I suppose it would be possible to have it so that a split thread opens on the most recent one - but re-reading old stuff isn't a bad idea. You notice things you missed.
Deja vu is a very folky thing anyway. We like the old songs, and play the old tunes, again and again, all with repeats. There was a fella on the radio some time ago who was saying that when he first heard Irish music he used to think "It's all the same tune". And then he got into it and he'd say "No, it's no the same tune at all." And then he really got into it, and came to the conclusion "Yes, it is really all the same tune - and I like it."
