I loved pranks as a kid and still do...this was one of my best....and its musical.

Tie a thick piece of cotton wrapping twine through a hole punched in the edge of a cut/flat tin can that is about one inch wide and four inches long...and easily bendable.

Thoroughly Rosin the string with violin/cello/or bass rosin.

Slip the metal between the middle slats (outside the house) of a window in the neighborhood. Using tension on the string and your rosined fingers....play an unearthly sound through the entire house with the window glass acting as the sounding board.

The same attached to a whole tin can makes a protable noise maker but without the resonant quality of the entire window.
