Regarding your ceramic bodhran, is it a ceramic rim with a goatskin head or is it entirely ceramic? If it is the latter, it is possible that it might actually be what we potters call a "bowl". If that is the case, and it is of sufficient size and shape that it could be confused with a bodhran, please return it to Spaw as someone has obviously given you his Weimaraners' feeding dish by accident.
