As always the Getaway was great fun for us (Dean, Carly and Samuel), too. A few of my highlights:

Seeing lots of friends, old and new, that we see all too infrequently.

Hearing the Soup Kitchen Quartet. I still get a smile on my face thinking about their concert on Sunday. Great stuff, and great people!

Rick Fielding. Although I didn't get a chance to hear much of him this year, he accounted for two of my family's highlights: singing with Carly outside the dining hall, and leading the Accompaniment and Jam Workshop that Samuel loved.

Having Samuel tell me that one of the best parts of the weekend was playing in the above mentioned workshop. He got to try playing hammer dulcimer with a bunch of other people and even got to take the lead on a couple of times through one song. Imagine that, he was more impressed with that than with playing Magic or Dungeons and Dragons! Maybe there's hope for the younger generation after all.

The Parodies Workshop which produced a bunch of new ones. Unfortunately, they tend to go out of my head about as fast as I hear them, but I do remember laughing a lot.

Watching some other children (Ken, Dan, and Darriel) having grown up.
