Lowden do NOT reccomend medium strings. They leave the factory these days with the quite expensive D'Addario EXP strings (.12). Personnally I believe that these are the Only D'Addario strings that are any good, the rest are rubbish compared to Martins in the same price class. I've never heard of a quiet Lowden, mind you.
