Bummer, Mrs. Duck!

I've had a car stolen (and taken for a joyride) and windows broken by folks who stole the radio/tape deck and in one case some tapes, including the master copy of a studio tape of some of my songs. The police seem not to have time to pursue or prosecute this type of theft. (They're too busy busting folks for using pot and cocaine.)

I hope your insurance company doesn't try to increase your rates or drop you because of the theft. When my old beater Datsun was stolen a few years ago, Safeco tried to drop all my coverage--not just the comprehensive-- on both my cars (including the much newer Toyota). I talked them out of that, finally, but they did drop the collision and comprehensive on the Datsun, even though I don't think I submitted a claim, ultimately, since the towing cost (to retrieve the abandoned car) was not much more than my deductible).

Lets hope maybe they'll find it and you'll get your papers back.
