Was Friday night a full moon or something? Friday was a real bad day here - first the cats killed a robin, our first bird visitor for over half a decade .. then I jumped off a bus hurriedly in a town 15 miles away from home and left a wallet with cash, cards, free bus pass and rail travel card in it. Dear old British Rail (except it isn't anymore is it?) took pity and issued a travel warrant so I could at least get home. Despite calling the bus company within minutes and them radioing the driver, the wallet had already been "had".
Then, horrifyingly on the way home a gang of 10 year olds drunk on whisky!! tried to force their way onto the rail carriage past me - I was more worried they were going to fall onto the rails....
