Thread Name: Lyr Req: The Dancing in Kyle (Pritchard, Duguid)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Dancing in Kyle
The lyrics posted above have Irish names for the most part, but I know I heard a version of this at a folk music evening in Pitlochry (sp.?), near Blair, in Scotland. The only phrase I remember went, "and go down to the dancing at Kyle." Slightly different from the above.

Oh, I would love to hear it again. It was part of a wonderful, rewarding day for me. Let's see.... 1968, I think....

I assumed it referred to Kyle of Lochalsh, just because that was the only Kyle I was familiar with. Can't remember how close it was to Blair/Pitlochry.

Possibly there are both Scottish and Irish variants?
