I was so very fortunate to catch Kate in concert, she was just finishing a long tour and appeared to be tired and later we found she had her second bout with leukemia. She asked Utah Phillips to come out of retirement to finish her tour on the west coast. It was the same tour she taped her Austin City Limits appearance.
I'm here to tell all that her performance was a most memorable concert and I'll cherish the memories for the rest of my life. Anyone who has had the special priviledge to see her in concert will miss her even though she left a legacy of songs. I felt like she was a magnet pulling her audience in and intimately singing her songs with personal conviction.
