The car had "Two litre diesel engine" written across the back in big letters, in that funny shorthand manufacturers use ("20iD", or the like), so it's maybe not surprising.

Of course, my spare specs, walking boots, waterproofs and a host of other uninsured things went with it. The only ray of sunshine was that I was working for the insurance firm that it was insured with, so I got the money in a fortnight with no quibbles.
