What are you referring to, when you speak about the "Folk process"?

I assume that Mr Red's assumption was that the transcription of the orgininal source was accurate. My own view is that a song should be transcribed as collected. If you want to correct the grammar (in whatever language) when performing the material yourself that is for you to decide, not for an editor to decide for you.

On the other hand of course the transcription may have been total pants.
