Just back from Western Queensland. Temperatures generally 33 - 37 Celsius during the day, minimum about 16 C at night.

For about 200 miles from the coast, the grass is dry, but still has some food value for stock. For the next 200 miles, it's dried out and has no food value, but gives something to chew. After that, there's no grass at all.

Only a lucky few have wheat crops, and there are very few summer crops being planted (usually cotton and/or sorghum).

Glad I live on the coast - it's just stinking hot and humid.
