This is a daily updated online virus checker that I find works really well. Use this in conjunction with your own virus software.

When housecall scans, if it finds a virus, click on the virus' name in the scanning box, that will open a link to housecall's online database, which contains information on how and/or a small program to ensure proper cleaning.

Like the others have said, this definitely sounds like a virus.
