I'm always curious when someone says they've been snubbed or ignored when they've posted, but doesn't say WHAT the posts were. The implication is always that it was their 'guest' status or 'newcomer' situation that was responsible for the lack of response.

I've watched dozens (if not hundreds) of new posters come into Mudcat...go through the mandatory 'newbie' period, and then become part of the 'core' group. Some of the more outgoing folks STARTED their relationship with the Cat by saying "Hi, I'm HERE", and received nice welcomes.

On the other hand (and I really CAN'T remember the details) there was a person a year or so ago, whose intial five or six posts were just filled with 'attitude', and who later complained about a restrictive 'inner circle' keeping her on the 'outside'. That was just plain silly, and certainly showed that the person knew nuthin' about getting along in 'groups'....but needless to say, 'Mudcat' (which is very similar to a 3d group of folks) got blamed.

Nah, t'ain't hard to be accepted around here...if you want to.
