Subject: RE: BS: Thread Ignored, I must be a loser!
Much better said than I did John....exactly what I meant!

As John recalls, he and I had some conversation on this same subject when he first came here. Many of us valued John's posts because it was easy to see he was quite knowledgeable, but we had inadvertently failed to respond. Sometimes just a note of agreement can make someone feel much more at home. A member once asked me why I even bothered to post when all I said was "So and So made a great post." It's not to be cliqueish or anything, simply to let someone know that we read what they wrote.

I used to post a lot more to instrument threads than I do now, but to be truthful, I've probably said what I have to say on this guitar or that capo about 4 or 5 times already, but I have made an effort to read and comment on the ideas of others who haven't been around here so long. Really, you just kinda' run out of things to say....and some folks are intimidated by sending them back to older threads.

Some subjects are simply very narrow and there are few people with much knowledge on the subject. On those threads a refresh from someone can help to keep it alive for awhile until perhaps the right person shows up. Don't be put off if I (and a few others) refresh the thread with a joke......just ignore it and go on, being happy your thread was noticed and hope someone else sees it.
