As a resident, but not a local, it is indeed Bridgwater (Somerset, UK for those elsewhere) without the middle 'e'. I know of the LP but have never heard it. I might be able to trace a copy of the words if no-one else can can up with them easily.

Joe's quote is curious. Tolpuddle is a good 60 miles from here. Maybe there's a Bridgwater close to there too (must be very small - wonder if I've a suitable map - Tolpuddle itself is small, just with a historical reputation). Oh bother, am I volunteering myself for work here....?
