Right, I am appalled at you all. Thread Bridge - the rules.

1) A thread is started with a ridiculous title. If the originator wants to play, they put in brackets the "goal" post that they will post to. I.e if "BS Cooking with heat (27)" appears, the poster will try to be poster no 27

2) Other posters, in subsequent posts, nominate the anticipated number that their subsequent post will appear - minimum 15 from the number of the post announcing the bid. I.e, if things are going nicely at post 37, the next available "goal" post is 52. If more than 1 poster, makes the same bid, the first on the screen is valid, the others have to re-bid.

3) Any poster failing to reach the goal post by more than 1 either way is compelled to bid on any item in the Mudcat auction.

4) Anyone landing bang on their nominated goal post can feel like Marvin Gaye for an hour.

5) No consecutive posts from the same poster are permitted. If the goal post is acheived bang on, by the use of consecutive posts. The poster may not feel like Marvin Gaye for any time at all, and must bid on one item in the auction.

6) Guests may not participate, but only because of the requirement to bid in the auction, not because anonymous guests are all bad.

7) Participants will need to police the implementation of forfeits in the spirit of the forum
